I’m looking at an astonishing and very sad picture. I use a highly popular listing service for adding new inventory to the Internet. My service shows all of its sellers a graph of total sales processed through the service.

There’s been a steady downward trend since Inauguration Day. 

This is my reproduction of the graph for the last six weeks.

The red dot stands for pain, the fatal wound that many businesses received on Inauguration Day.

The peaks are midweek sales;  the troughs are the weekend. Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays always show the highest sales. The shapes closest to the beginning are closest to what we normally see.

I just heard President Obama say that he will not stand for business as usual. Apparently not.

When our government abuses and oppresses business, it is abusing and oppressing families.
